Guidelines for NBU Ultra High Efficiency
Washing Machine Rebate Program
- Rebates
are applied on any qualified single-loaded new ultra
high efficiency washing
machine (CEE Tier 2 or higher rated machine). A list
of CEE Tier 2 or higher rated
machines is available via this
page.
Rebate qualification will be based on the
most current CEE list at the time the rebate is received
by New Braunfels Utilities
(NBU). Rebate program becomes effective April 1,
2006.
- The
program is made available to residential water customers
of (NBU) only.
- The
program offers one (1) $100 rebate per ultra high
efficiency washing machine per residential dwelling
unit.
- Rebates are paid in the
form of credit, which will be applied to the customer’s
water
bill. NBU may confirm installation of ultra high
efficiency washing machine by a
post-installation inspection. A customer’s
signature on the application implies
consent to a post-installation inspection at NBU’s
discretion and certifies that
installation has taken place.

To obtain a washing machine rebate, the customer
shall present an original, unaltered
and dated sales receipt for NBU approval as proof-of-purchase
along with a completed
rebate form. The make and model number of the equipment
must be identified on the
receipt. The customer shall provide proof that
the washer purchased meets the criteria for
High Efficiency specifications for resource efficiency.
- The
customer shall complete the NBU rebate application
available at the NBU Main
Office at 263 Main Plaza or online
here (PDF).
