The video below will walk you through the steps to performing what is often refered to as the "Tuna can test".  This test will help you calculate the amount of water that is spread over your yard from a sprinkler or irrigation system.   Please note that though this is called the Tuna Can Test, it doesn't have to be performed using tuna cans.  Any short but wide, such as dog or cat food cans will work.
