Reporting a Watering Violation

New Braunfels residents have always been on the leading edge of conservation.  Typically as we approach the summer months, the lack of rainfall requires us to consider opportunities for additional conservation. New Braunfels has an ordinance that prohibits landscape watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. year-round, except using a hand held hose, bucket, soaker hose (that does not spray water in the air) or drip irrigation system. If additional watering restrictions are implemented, non-essential use of water—particularly outdoors—is further limited.

We also provide a 24-hour Information Line to help you keep up-to-date with the latest watering restrictions. A brief recorded message can be heard by calling (830) 608-8925. You are welcome to leave a voice mail at this number that alerts us to possible watering violations. We will contact that individual or business and remind them of the ordinance requirements and request their compliance.

The complete New Braunfels Water Conservation and Drought Management Plan with all the information about water use during can be found by clicking here.  You can also download a Landscape Watering Regulation Brochure that gives complete information about year round conservation requirements and watering guidelines.

All uses of water have to be taken into consideration as we strive to maintain our springs and sustain the many species of fish and animals that rely on it for life. Conservation and responsible water usage can make a difference for all of us!
