New Commercial Construction


New commercial connection

If you're applying for for water, sewer or electric service for construction of a new commercial location, please contact NBU Engineering for review of plans (Water Systems Engineering may be reached at 830-608-8971 and Electric Engineering at 830-608-8951.)  Once plans have been reviewed and approved, please contact NBU Business Development at 830-608-8992 or newconstruction@nbutexas.com  to complete a commercial service agreement, provide required documentation of your business, and payment of quoted water, sewer and/or electric fees and in addition to a deposit based on the NBU services provided. NBU requires a two-month estimated billing deposit, with a minimum of $200. Half of the deposit is paid up front and the remaining balance will be added to your utility bill in one installment.

Existing commercial connection

If you need to apply for service at an already constructed commercial building,please contact NBU Customer Service Representatives at (830) 629-8400 or (830) 606-2074 (San Anotnio metro), and an application can be sent to you to fill out and return by fax or mail. Our fax number is (830) 629-2119. NBU will calculate the average of the past 12 months utility bills and multiply that amount by two to determine the deposit. Half of that amount will be due up front and the remaining balance will be added to your utility bill in one installment. In addition to the application, you will also need to provide us with your social security number and a copy of your driver's license.

Administrative fee

An administrative fee of $45 will be charged and added to your first month's bill. If you have both electric and water service, that fee will be split between the services at a cost of $22.50 each. If you only have one of these services, the total fee will be $45.

Disconnecting service

To discontinue commercial service, you can fill out a disconnect notice at our Main Office in downtown New Braunfels or bring in, fax or mail a signed letter requesting the disconnect and directing NBU where to send your final bill.
