“We are implementing Stage
I of the New Braunfels Drought Management Plan in response
to the severity of the water situation in Texas,” Boyer
says. “The U.S. Climate Prediction Center has
forecasted that the drought will persist and even intensify
in South Central Texas through August. For this reason,
we all need to do what we can to make the most efficient
use of our water resources.”
Residents can get the latest watering restrictions
24-hours a day by calling the NBU Information Line
at 608-8925. Reports of water violations can also be
made at this number. Customers will be kept informed
of water restrictions through the local media, on the
NBU web site at www.nbutexas.com, and through bill
messages. Landscape watering guidelines are also being
mailed in NBU bills and are available for free at the
NBU Main Office. Customers with questions regarding
the current watering guidelines or the Year-Round Conservation
and Drought Management Plan are asked to call NBU Business
Development Manager Suzanne Williams at (830) 608-8990.

“Fortunately, New Braunfels citizens have always
supported conservation efforts,” Boyer says. “They
are good stewards of our environment and recognize
that our precious water resources must be protected
and preserved.”
