Electric outage affects NBU customers

NEW BRAUNFELS—An electric outage occurred on Saturday, January 20 at approximately 11:50 a.m. NBU customers served by the Freiheit substation were affected by the loss of power. The area affected by this included approximately 500 customers on Business IH-35, the Summerwood Subdivision, Broadway, and some customers along Loop 337. Several hundred customers were rerouted to another circuit within a matter of minutes. Remaining customers had power restored in less than two hours. The cause of the outage has not been determined at this time and electric crews continue to investigate possible reasons for the circuit trip.
