Icossipentarhos earns CPPO certification
NEW BRAUNFELS—Rosemary Icossipentarhos, buyer for
New Braunfels Utilities, is the
latest recipient of the Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) certification.
This prestigious
certification is an outstanding honor for individuals employed in the public
purchasing profession
and is an asset to their specific division of governmental administration.
To become certified as a CPPO, Icossipentarhos had to demonstrate through
an application
process that she met specific requisites established by the Universal Public
Purchasing
Certification Council (UPPCC); including formal education, procurement related
course
work/training, public purchasing experience and functional management experience.
She also had to complete a comprehensive written examination and oral assessment
to confirm her mastery of the body of knowledge for public purchasing professionals.
The CPPO certification recognizes only those professionals who have completed
this rigorous
process. Icossipentarhos, who has worked for NBU in the Purchasing Division
since December
2003, is only one of about 1,500 purchasing professionals who have achieved
this accomplished
status.
