2006 Conservation According to Kids Calendar Contest
Official
Rules and Instructions
1. The contest is open to all third and fourth grade students who attend
a school in the NBU
service territory or who live in the NBU service territory.
2. Use an
8-1/2 x 11-inch piece of unlined white paper to draw a picture of a
way to conserve
electricity OR draw a picture of a way to conserve water. Pictures
must be drawn horizontally.
3. All pictures must be drawn and colored
to the edge of the paper. Color the artwork using
colored pencils, paint, crayons, or colored markers. Do not apply
any additional medium
to the artwork such as glitter, stickers, or tobacco products. A
brief explanation may be
added to the front of the picture (with the approved materials) describing
how the drawing
depicts electric or water conservation efforts.
4. All pictures must
have the student’s name, address, phone number, teacher’s name
and
grade, and school name on the BACK of the drawing. If a student
is home schooled,
please include the parent’s name on the back of the drawing.
5.
All pictures must be handed in to teachers by 12:00 p.m. on Friday,
October 21, 2005 or
returned to the NBU Main Office at 263 Main Plaza in downtown
New Braunfels by 5:00
p.m.
6. All judges’ decisions are final and winners will be chosen
from qualified entries received
by Friday, October 21, 2005. Judging will take place the week
of October 26, 2005, based
on theme, originality, creativity and use of color. Winners
will know if their pictures have
been chosen by Monday, October 31, 2005.
7. All entries received
by NBU become the property of NBU and cannot be returned.
NBU
will not be responsible for: (a) any late, lost, incomplete,
or damaged entries; (b) any
Contest disruptions, injuries, losses, or damages caused
by events beyond the control of
NBU; or (c) any printing or typographical errors in any materials
associated with the Contest.
By entering the contest, the student and their parents or
legal guardian release and agree
to hold harmless NBU and each of their directors, officers,
employees and agencies from
any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries,
losses or damages of any kind
(including, without limitation, related to personal injury,
death, damage to property,
infringement of proprietary rights, rights of publicity or
privacy or defamation) arising out
of or in connection with a) entering the contest; b) acceptance
of any prize; or c) otherwise
arising out of or related to the contest.If you are a minor,
your parents or legal guardians
further agree to indemnify each of the released parties from
any claims, costs, injuries,
losses or damages described in the preceding paragraph.
8.
Winners will receive one $50 savings bond each and six
calendars that will feature their
artwork. Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
No substitutions or cash
equivalent will be made on any prize, or portions thereof.
9.
Only one entry per student allowed.
10. Immediate family
members of NBU employees are not eligible to win this contest.
