Locating your Smart Water Meter<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

New Braunfels Utilities water meters are placed underground in black rectangular boxes next to the faucet or hose bib, forward-facing from your residence. Meters may be located to the side of the residence for corner lots. To read your water meter, remove the lid to view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Rate of flow<\/strong> – indicates how many gallons of water per minute are flowing through the meter.<\/li>
  2. Flow direction<\/strong> – Indicates which way the water is flowing through the meter.<\/li>
  3. Low Battery Alarm<\/strong> – Indicates a low battery and transmits this data to NBU for servicing.<\/li>
  4. Leak Alarm<\/strong> – Indicates that there has been a sustained flow through the meter which is suspect of a leak.<\/li>
  5. Alert<\/strong> – Indicates a mechanical or electronic issue with the meter.<\/li>
  6. Factor<\/strong> – Multiply this number by a daily read difference to determine a gallon total.<\/li>
  7. Totalization<\/strong> – Indicates how many gallons have flowed through the meter over its lifetime.<\/li>
  8. AMR Digit Highlighter<\/strong> – Helps identify numbers other than placeholders.<\/li>
  9. Unit of Measure<\/strong> – NBU water meters read in gallons.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\t
