(New Braunfels, TX \u2013 June 23, 2022) \u2013 New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) announced Stage 3 drought restrictions on Monday, June 20, 2022. As outlined in the New Braunfels Code of Ordinance<\/a>, the first non-watering week for NBU customers is July 3 \u2013 9, 2022<\/strong>. During Stage 3 watering restrictions, watering is permitted once every other week as determined by the last digit of the NBU customer\u2019s address:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addresses ending 0 or 1: Monday                 Addresses ending 2 or 3: Tuesday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addresses ending 4 or 5: Wednesday           Addresses ending 6 or 7: Thursday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addresses ending 8 or 9: Friday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use of a hand-held hose, bucket, soaker hose, drip irrigation system, or a soaker hose that does not spray water into the air is allowed on any day BEFORE 10:00 a.m. and AFTER 8:00 p.m. during Stage 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, with Stage 3 in effect, customers may see an additional charge on their utility bills.  Designed to promote conservation during Stage 3 drought restrictions, NBU imposes a $1.00 per 1,000-gallon drought surcharge for residential usage greater than 15,000 gallons and for irrigation usage greater than 7,500 gallons per month.
