(New Braunfels, TX \u2013 March 3, 2023) \u2013 New Braunfels Utilities will begin major construction on the Goodwin Lane 24-inch Water Main Project, which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Goodwin Lane Water Main Project is budgeted at $10,240,025. It is one of 153 projects in which NBU is investing more than $871 million to improve or add necessary infrastructure. The Goodwin Lane Water Main Project will increase reliability by installing larger-diameter pipelines to the Kohlenberg Pressure Zone. The Kohlenberg Pressure Zone encompasses the New Braunfels area north of Loop 337 and south of Watson Lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 24-inch main will increase the Country Hills Pump Station’s transmission capacity and operational efficiency by installing large-diameter transmission pipelines that feed into the Kohlenberg Pressure Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Goodwin Lane Water Main Project will add approximately 12,100 linear feet (LF) of 24-inch water main from the intersection of Goodwin Lane and Pebble Creek Run to the Country Hills Pump Station located at the intersection of Hoffman Lane and Hunter Road, and routed along Goodwin Lane, Conrads Lane, Hoffman Lane, and FM 1102.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital traffic control boards will display upcoming lane closure announcements along Goodwin Lane, Conrads Lane, Hunter Road, and Hoffman Lane. The construction of the waterline, specifically at the intersection of Goodwin Lane and Conrads Lane, and construction within 200 feet of Oak Creek Elementary School, is expected to be scheduled from June through August 2023, to alleviate traffic impacts by coinciding when school is out of session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
