Stage 1 Water Restrictions Effective Today, September 1, 2021<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(New Braunfels, TX \u2013September 1, 2021) \u2013 For the second time this year New Braunfels will enter Stage 1 Drought Restrictions. Drought restrictions are triggered by the average 10-day water level of the Edwards Aquifer. Today, September 1, 2021, the J-17 well hit 659.8-feet, triggering Stage 1 Drought Restrictions.
Stage 1 is effective immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNew Braunfels Utilities (NBU) encourages year-round water conservation; however, the New Braunfels Water Conservation and Drought Management Plan allows NBU to put water conservation measures in place when the aquifer reading meets specific trigger points,\u201d said Chief Communications and Strategy Officer, Melissa Krause. \u201cCustomers can visit nbutexas.com to keep up with the water stage and to access a variety of tools to help manage their utility bills.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 During Stage 1 Drought Restrictions, the schedule for the use of a sprinkler or irrigation system is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addresses ending 0 and 1: Monday
Addresses ending 2 and 3: Tuesday
Addresses ending 4 and 5: Wednesday
Addresses ending 6 and 7: Thursday
Addresses ending 8 and 9: Friday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use of a hand-held hose, bucket, soaker hose, or drip irrigation system is allowed on any day at any time during Stage 1. Use of a sprinkler or irrigation system is not permitted on the weekends during Stages 1, 2, or 3.
