NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (March 18, 2026) – New Braunfels Utilities (NBU), in partnership with Communities in Schools of South Central Texas (CIS), is launching the second annual KinderKraft donation drive, benefiting New Braunfels-area students in need of basic supplies and personal items.

Following a successful inaugural campaign that collected nearly 900 donated items for local students, the KinderKraft initiative continues to bring together NBU employees, customers and community members to support families across the New Braunfels area.

Donations will be accepted March 23 through May 1, 2026, at designated locations throughout the community. Drawing on insights from campus-based CIS staff who work closely with local students and families, KinderKraft seeks donations for school supplies, personal hygiene products, clothing and non-perishable snacks. Only new and unopened items will be
accepted.

“KinderKraft reflects the incredible power of our community coming together to support local students,” said Nicole Wesley, NBU Community Engagement Manager. “Last year’s response showed just how much our community cares. Every donated item represents support, encouragement and opportunity for students who need it most.

Donations will be collected in marked donation boxes at the following locations:

  • Cranky Pickle – 624 Krueger Canyon
  • Communities in Schools – 430 West Mill St., Suite 100
  • Das Rec – 345 Landa St.
  • Frost Bank – 315 Landa St.
  • Headwaters at the Comal – 333 E. Klingemann St.
  • McKenna Center – 801 W San Antonio St.
  • New Braunfels Utilities Customer Solutions Center – 1488 S. Seguin Ave.

Community members may also donate items directly through the KinderKraft Amazon Wish List.

KinderKraft combines the German words for “children” (Kinder) and “power” (Kraft), symbolizing the strength of a united community working together to support local youth.
