NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (April 29, 2026) – New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) has selected Amanda Collins as its new Chief Customer Officer to support the growing needs of the New Braunfels community. Collins will begin her role in early May.
In this role, Collins will lead NBU’s customer operations, including customer service and engagement. She will focus on improving customer experience by implementing new technology and enhancing the customer portal. Making it easier for customers to manage their accounts and access services through a more seamless and user-friendly experience.
“Amanda’s experience in building innovative systems and improving customer operations will be instrumental as we continue to evolve to meet the needs of our community,” said Ryan Kelso, Chief Executive Officer of New Braunfels Utilities. “Her leadership reflects our commitment to putting customers at the center of everything we do.”
Collins brings more than 17 years of government experience, with deep expertise in customer operations, regulatory compliance and organizational strategy. Most recently, she served as Director of the Consumer Relations Division at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, where she led a high-volume customer contact center supporting more than one million customer interactions annually. In that role, she implemented technology-driven solutions to streamline processes, improve efficiency and elevate the customer experience at scale.

Collins holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Prairie View A&M University and an Executive Master of Public Leadership from The University of Texas at Austin. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a graduate of the Governor’s Executive Development Program.
