If you’re a homeowner, builder, or developer preparing to establish a new electrical connection, this page brings together the key steps and requirements you need to know. At New Braunfels Utilities, we are here to make the process as clear and predictable as possible, from checking service availability to understanding the application requirements and expectations.

1

Does NBU provide service to the desired location?

Before setting up a new electrical connection to your property, please determine if NBU provides service to the area. To confirm, visit the service area map below.

2

Does your request need a design?

An Electric Distribution Designer will review your request and determine the next steps to take.

A meeting may be scheduled with a Designer at the proposed location to discuss the scope of work and other requirements that may include meter location, fees and easements.

If an easement is required, please refer to NBU’s Easement Resource Page.
