Partnership between NBU and NBISD brings community pride to a new water tower

A new landmark is taking shape near FM 1044 and Old Marion Road, bringing together two organizations committed to serving the New Braunfels community. Through a partnership between New Braunfels Utilities and New Braunfels ISD, the city’s newest elevated storage tank will proudly feature the New Braunfels Dragons logo, creating the community’s first “Dragon” water tower.

For NBU and NBISD, the project represents more than infrastructure. It reflects a shared investment in the future of New Braunfels and the people who call it home. Once completed, November 2026, the tower will stand as both a critical piece of infrastructure and a visible symbol of Dragon pride for students, families and the broader community.

The 2.0-million-gallon elevated storage tank serves an important purpose beyond its appearance. Elevated storage tanks help maintain consistent water pressure, provide additional water storage and support reliable service during peak demand and emergency situations.

As the tower rises above the New Braunfels skyline, it will serve as a reminder that strong communities are built through partnership, planning and a shared commitment to the people they serve.
