New Braunfels Utilities’ (NBU) top priority is taking care of its employees, customers, and all those we serve as we deliver on our mission and commitment to providing essential services including electric, water, and wastewater. While the development of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an ever-evolving situation with many unknowns, we can assure you that NBU is taking proactive measures to help prepare staff, customers, and vendors.



Along with our entire community, we are constantly evaluating the ever evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and witnessing many rapid changes in our community.


Hardships are unfolding daily, caused by the unintended consequences of this situation. New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) is committed to being a good community partner and helping where we can. Effective July 1, 2020, NBU will reinitiate late fees and disconnections for non-payment on past due accounts. Within the next 30-days, customers with past-due balances should contact the Customer Service department at 830.629.8400 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Our service representatives are committed to working with each customer and their unique situation to arrange a payment plan. New Braunfels Utilities’ customers with past due accounts, greater than 60-days, were previously notified and encouraged to establish payment plans. Customers with past-due balances have until June 30, 2020 to set up a payment plan. Customers who make payment arrangements by June 30, and honor their payment plan arrangements, in addition to paying their current bills, will have late fees forgiven until the account returns to good standing. As a reminder, NBU lobbies remain closed until further notice in an effort to help minimize the spread of the virus. Customers are asked to access their NBU accounts online, or by phone at 830.629.8400 during standard business hours. The NBU drive-through, located off of the Main Plaza, is also open during standard business hours and the night drop remains accessible.
