Social Media Policy

New Braunfels Utilities’ social media pages were created to communicate matters of public interest with the general public.  Questions, comments, or concerns related to NBU services, policies, programs, and community events are welcomed.  

This social media site constitutes a limited public forum.  As such, NBU reserves the right to remove content that violates the terms of this policy or any applicable law.  Specifically, NBU reserves the right to delete any posting that contains the following:

  1. profanity;
  2. obscene or violent content;
  3. discriminatory content, including content that promotes, perpetuates, or fosters discrimination on the basis of age, gender, race, religion, color, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, marital status, and/or gender identity;
  4. threats;
  5. solicitation of business;
  6. sexual content;
  7. content that implies, promotes, or encourages illegal activity;
  8. content that violates a copyright or trademark;  
  9. any content that violates federal, state, or local law; or 
  10. content that is unrelated to NBU services or that is inappropriate for our audience. 

In addition, a record of any violations will be kept. After a second offense, the account in violation will be sent a courtesy message warning of possible removal. A third offense from the account will result in a message indicating the account will be blocked from the NBU social media, unless otherwise agreed to by NBU.

New Braunfels Utilities is not responsible for and does not endorse any comment posted by a member of the public.  Commenters are personally responsible for their own comments, username, and/or any information the commentator places on this page. 

All content posted on this page is subject to the Texas Public Information Act, the Texas Local Government Records Retention Act, and e-discovery laws.
