NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (April 19, 2026) — New Braunfels Utilities (PWS TX0460001) has issued a WATER NOTICE to all customers on April 19, 2026, as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). View the official notice for your reference.

Routine testing identified the presence of coliform and E. coli bacteria in a water sample taken directly from a well, raw water, before the water enters our customer distribution system. It is important to note that this raw water is always disinfected as part of our standard treatment process before being delivered to homes and businesses.

Out of an abundance of caution, the affected wells were immediately taken offline and will be fully disinfected. Required testing will be conducted before the wells are returned to service.

The water delivered to our customers continues to meet all regulatory standards and is safe for customers to use and drink. This is NOT a Boil Water notice. No additional measures are needed before use or consumption. If you have questions or need assistance, please visit www.nbutexas.com/water-notice/ or contact NBU at 830.629.8400.
