(New Braunfels, TX – May 1, 2023) – Today, New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) will begin work on replacing a section of the wastewater main at the intersection of IH-35 northbound frontage road and Schmidt Avenue.

As a result of this project, a portion of Schmidt Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Monday, May 1, through Saturday, May 20, 2023. Vehicular traffic heading southbound on Schmidt Avenue will be detoured to either Morningside Drive or Loma Vista.

Vehicular traffic should expect barriers at the intersection and posted detour routes. All work is expected to be completed as scheduled, weather permitting.

New Braunfels Utilities will provide up-to-date traffic impacts on nbutexas.com/current-construction-impacts-and-road-closures.

Contact Paula DuBois at 830.608.8827 or pdubois@nbutexas.com with any questions regarding the project.
