(New Braunfels, TX – July 30, 2021) – New Braunfels Utilities will install a 24-inch water line along Independence Drive between State Highway-46 and Loop 337 as part of its Oakbrook Elevated Storage Tank Capital Improvement Project. The public should expect road and lane closures along Independence Drive through September 3, 2021.

The project will be completed in three phases with road and lane closures scheduled until the work is completed.

Phase 1. Start: Tuesday, July 27, 2021 | End: Friday, September 3, 2021
Daily Closure Times: 24 hour-a-day closure – Consists of lane closure to northwest half of Independence Drive for approximately 400 feet in length, starting at Intersection with State Highway-46.

Phase 2a. Start: Tentatively Monday, August 9, 2021 | End: Tentatively Friday, August 13, 2021
Daily Closure Times: 24 hour-a-day closure – Consists of full road closure, in one location, approximately 400 feet from the Intersection with State Highway-46.

Phase 2b. Start: Tentatively Monday, August 30, 2021 | End: Tentatively Friday, September 3, 2021
Daily Closure Times: 24 hour-a-day closure – Consists of full road closure, in one location, approximately 700 feet from the Intersection with State Highway-46.

Phase 3. Start: Tentatively Monday, August 16, 2021 | End: Tentatively Friday, August 27, 2021
Daily Closure Times: 24 hour-a-day closure – Consists of behind the curb work approximately 400 feet to 700 feet from the Intersection with State Highway-46.
