Multiple Road Closures at McQueeney Road are Scheduled through Friday, January 27, 2023

(New Braunfels, TX – January 24, 2023) – Harper Brothers Construction, a subcontractor of New Braunfels Utilities, is currently conducting reconstructive paving with expected completion on Friday, January 27, 2023, which will include a closure at the entrance of I-35 Frontage Road to Perryman Street as well as a section of Merriweather Street, between McQueeney Road to Castell Avenue.

Daily closures will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flaggers will be present to allow access to residents and local businesses.

The McQueeney Road 24-inch Water Line Project will upgrade existing infrastructure by replacing a 12-inch water line along McQueeney Road, from County Line Road to the County Line Memorial Trail, with 18 and 24-inch gravity mains, which transports wastewater to treatment and disposal facilities. These improvements will provide additional capacity for future growth in the area. The project began in June 2021 with an anticipated completion date of March 2023 and is budgeted at nearly $3.9 million.

New Braunfels Utilities will provide up-to-date traffic impacts for Capital Improvement Projects such as this one on its traffic impacts map at nbutexas.com/current-construction-impacts-and-road-closures.
