New Braunfels Utilities Prepares for Texas Lineman’s Rodeo

(New Braunfels, TX – July 6, 2022) Linemen across Texas are gearing up for the Texas Lineman’s Rodeo after waiting two years to compete. The COVID-19 pandemic, the winter storm of 2021, and the recovery efforts have left little time for New Braunfels Utilities and other electric utility providers to gather for the annual electric lineman skills competition.

The Texas Lineman’s Rodeo Association conducts the annual Texas Lineman’s Rodeo because it understands the importance of providing unmatched skills training for the brave men and women who keep the lights on and our communities powered for Texans and the world.

New Braunfels Utilities linemen and crews will showcase their skills against approximately 200 competing utilities during the Texas Lineman’s Rodeo on Saturday, July 16, 2022, beginning at 6:30 a.m., at GBRA’s Nolte Island Park, Seguin, Texas.

The Texas Lineman’s Rodeo will once again offer line workers’ families and friends the opportunity to witness first-hand what the job is all about. The competition begins bright and early on Saturday morning, at 6:45 a.m. Competitive events include timed events like the Pole Climb, Hurtman Rescue, Tool Inspections, and various Mystery Events. The Barbeque Cook-Off event will round out the day’s competition.
