(New Braunfels, TX – November 9, 2023) – New Braunfels Utilities (NBU), an integral part of the New Braunfels community, is embarking on a significant journey to select its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). To ensure that this pivotal decision resonates with the values and aspirations of our community, NBU has partnered with Baker Tilly, a renowned executive search firm. In the initial phase of this collaborative effort, we invited the community to lend their voices and wisdom, sharing their vision for the ideal CEO.

“Community engagement is at the heart of our process, and we value the insights of our fellow residents,” said Wayne Peters, President of the NBU Board of Trustees. “This partnership with Baker Tilly underscores our commitment to a transparent, community-driven selection process.”

Throughout October, NBU activated a digital survey, which garnered invaluable input from more than 165 community members. We intentionally sought feedback from diverse voices and backgrounds, recognizing that this collective perspective will profoundly shape decision-making as we strive to identify the right leader for NBU.

“I commend NBU for taking this proactive approach in involving our community in such an important decision,” shared Neal Linnartz, Mayor of the City of New Braunfels. “Our city thrives when our utility service provider is aligned with the needs and aspirations of our residents.”

The survey results, including the key attributes identified by our community members, are available at www.nbutexas.com/ceo-search.

As we move the CEO candidate selection process forward, Baker Tilly has posted the NBU CEO position, and interested individuals are encouraged to apply no later than November 27, 2023.

“We greatly appreciate the valuable feedback received from our community, which will help us select the leader who will steer NBU to an even brighter future,” said Judith Hoffmann, Vice President of the NBU Board of Trustees. “This collaborative approach reflects our commitment to making this decision a true community effort.”
